The Liga ng mga Barangay sa Pilipinas, under the leadership of National President Jessica Dy, successfully held its 6th National Executive Board (NEB) Meeting at the World Trade Center, setting the tone for the upcoming National Congress.

The meeting tackled several pressing and forward-looking agenda items. Among the highlights was the report of the Conference Committee on the proposed term extension, a matter of national importance for barangay governance. Members also witnessed the official launch of Buhay Barangay TV, a new media platform designed to showcase inspiring stories, best practices, and success journeys from barangays across the country.

In addition, the Liga rolled out the first issue of the Balitang Barangay Newsletter, which will now serve as a regular communication channel for updates, initiatives, and narratives from local communities nationwide.

Final preparations for the start of the National Congress, scheduled to open the following day, were also thoroughly discussed to ensure a smooth and meaningful gathering of barangay leaders, partners, and stakeholders.

The meeting further served as a moment of recognition and transition within the NEB. Plaques of appreciation were awarded to outgoing members who had recently been elected to higher positions in the latest elections, honoring their significant contributions to the Liga. Meanwhile, newly appointed NEB members took their oath of office, formally joining the Board and committing to continue the mission of empowering barangays across the Philippines.

The success of the 6th NEB Meeting reflects the Liga’s steady progress under the leadership of President Jessica Dy, reaffirming its commitment to strengthen barangays as the foundation of good governance and nation-building.
